The M.S. in Information Systems Engineering is a unique program. It goes beyond traditional management information systems education to deliver a strong foundation for leveraging computer technology to solve business problems. As such, the people who enter the program come from many different backgrounds and a multitude of industries. The minimum requirements for entry are a bachelor's degree from a college or university acceptable to Polytechnic. Admissions decisions are made by the program director and will be based on life experience in addition to academic credentials.
Although all of our participants are unique, some typical backgrounds of past students have been:
- Professionals with a background in computer science or engineering
- Individuals with a non-technical background such as finance, or liberal arts who have migrated into information systems within their organizations
- Independent consultants working in information systems or technology
- Managers who supervise technology professionals
