Bing

Microsoft's latest search engine, it provides search suggestions and the ability to save and share searches.

Clusty

Searches several top search engines, combines the results, and generates an ordered list based on comparative ranking

Google.com

Widely-used search engine that ranks sites by popularity (i.e. how many other sites link to each page).

Metacrawler

Searches Google, Yahoo!, MSN Search, and Ask all at once.

Yahoo! Search

Ranks results according to their relevance by analyzing the web page text, title, description, source, and other document characteristics.

Scholarly Search Engines

arXiv.org

Open access to e-prints in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Biology and Statistics.

Citeseer

Searchable scientific literature digital library and search engine that focuses primarily on the literature in computer and information science.

E-print Network

A vast, integrated network of electronic scientific and technical information communicating the results of research activities.  A product of the Office of Scientific & Technical Information.

Google Scholar

Provides a search of scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources, including theses, books, abstracts and articles. Set Preferences to link to full text available through Bobst Library.

Infomine

A virtual library of university level Internet resources. It contains useful resources such as databases, electronic journals, electronic books, bulletin boards, mailing lists, online library card catalogs, articles, directories of researchers, and many other types of information.

PubMed

More than 19 million citations for biomedical articles from MEDLINE and life science journals. Citations may include links to full-text articles from PubMed Central or publisher web sites.

SciCentral

A gateway to scientific research news resources. Includes links to sites in the fields of Biosciences, Health Sciences, Physics/Chemistry, Earth & Space, and Engineering.

Science.gov

Search over 40 databases and 1,950 selected websites of authoritative U.S. government science information, including research and development results.

A comprehensive science-specific search engine that includes journal content, courseware, pre-print server material, patents and websites.
