Biography
"Bill" Hery holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in mathematics from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (now NYU-Poly) and taught in Poly's math department for 6 years. He then moved to industry, primarily at Bell Labs, where he evolved from a mathematician to a computer scientist specializing in distributed and parallel systems, fault tolerance, and security. Most of his work at Bell Labs was government funded research for DoD and other government agencies. After taking an early retirement from Bell Labs, he joined Poly on a part time basis in teaching, research and program development.
