Vivek Veeraiah

Vivek Veeraiah holds MBA in Innovation and Technology Management, Master’s of Science in Computer Science from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India. Prior to coming to the US for his graduate degree, Vivek worked with MphasiS, an EDS company, and Samana Technologies in India, where he reported to and worked closely with the Operations Manager, performing local administrative and operations functions as appropriate in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.  Vivek also worked toward improving the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organization’s mission.

Though a Computer Science graduate, Vivek’s interest in Business education and his work experience in the business side of technology motivated him to take on his current position, Administrative Director,  as a challenge and to improve administrative operations of the Department. Prior to this position, Vivek taught C++ recitations and now teaches Operations Management for the undergraduates and Enterprise Data Systems for the graduates as an Adjunct Professor at NYU-Poly. Reporting directly to the Chair of the Department, Prof. Bharat Rao, Vivek’s responsibilities include dealing with the MBA-ITM, MSM, MS -OB and the MOT / IM Executive Programs offered by the Department of Technology Management, serving as an operational liaison with rest of the Department and all parts of the NYU-Poly, and interfacing with students, faculty and relevant outside constituencies. Vivek also supervises outreach communication with potential corporate sponsors, program participants and other not-for-profit organizations. Also, Vivek operationally supports research programs, Institute for Technology and Enterprise (ITE) events and funding initiatives.

 Vivek is also the Administrator for the Department’s website. He handles the day-to-day communications with students, the marketing of the department programs, the gathering of information about other business school courses to make sure NYU-Poly courses are on the cutting edge, and the management of the logistics of information sessions, which are an opportunity for prospective students to learn about the programs and meet faculty members.
