PH6403 Physical Concepts of Polymer Nanocomposites (3:0:0:3)
This course presents fundamental aspects of polymer nanocomposites and updates on recent advancements and modern applications in nanotechnology. Topics include: nanostructured materials; natural nanobiocomposites; biomimetic and bioinspired nanomaterials; nanofibers; assembly at interfaces; interaction on surfaces; physical properties of polymer nanocomposites; reliability; nanodevices.
Course Objectives
This course will help you to:
Learn about naturally occurring systems of nanobiocomposites and current steps towards naturally inspired synthetic polymer nanocomposites
Realize that the promise of polymer nanocomposites is in unique combination of properties unachievable with traditional materials
Study how materials with synergistic properties can be chosen to create polymer nanocomposites with unique tailored properties for modern applications
Get a firm foundation for further studies of nanotechnology and nanoscience
