NYU-Poly’s Cyber Security Program is an internationally recognized center of excellence in information assurance and cyber security.
With the ever-increasing scale of interconnected information systems, concerns about cyber security dangers and threats expand daily. Polytechnic Institute of New York University’s Cyber Security Lecture Series has been created specifically to provide a visible arena for high-level discussion among world-class cyber warriors.
Sponsored by the New York-based Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, NYU-Poly’s series of four lectures and panel discussions are designed to raise the visibility of cyber security risks and issues. Internationally renowned cyber security experts are joining together to stimulate collaborative thinking, especially among the New York’s regional businesses, government agencies, nonprofits, academic institutions, media, and the public. Practical and timely, lectures will also focus on possible strategies that address the impact of growing cyber security risks.
Professor Nasir Memon of NYU-Poly, Lecture Series Chairman, is an internationally respected expert in cyber security. His research interests include digital forensics, data compression, computer and network security and multimedia computing and security. He has published more than 250 articles in scholarly journals and conference proceedings and holds more than a dozen patents in image compression and information security and forensics. His research has been featured in NBC Nightly News, The New York Times, MIT Review, Wired.Com, BBC, among other media.
