Residence Life > Community Standards

Polytechnic University is a community of people from diverse racial, ethnic, social and economic backgrounds, national origins, religious and political beliefs, physical abilities and sexual orientations.

The Office of Residence Life is committed to celebrating the rich diversity of people who live in on-campus. All of our activities, programs, and everyday interactions are enriched by our acceptance of one another, and the knowledge we gain when we learn from each other in an atmosphere of positive engagement and mutual respect.

We strongly believe that one’s actions demonstrate one’s commitment to respecting differences. Therefore, everyone who chooses to live in or visit the residence hall must understand that we will not tolerate any form of bigotry, threats, intimidation, violence or other forms of harassment against any member of our community. As part of that choice we need to be committed to these principles which are designed to enable all individuals to expand their personal horizons, succeed academically and reach their full potential. All residents and guests will be expected to live by the policies and procedures outlined located in the Residence Life handbook and the University Code of Conduct.
