Welcome to a virtual introduction to Polytechnic Institute of NYU, a unique institution that I had the privilege of joining in 2005 as its 10th president. Let me tell you why I think NYU-Poly is where you’ll want to be.

Pride:
Did you know that a Polytechnic grad sparked the high-tech revolution in Silicon Valley? Or founded Jacobs Engineering Group, one of the world’s top engineering companies? Or designed virtually every NYC bridge and tunnel? We take pride in our 150-year history of inventors and innovators who have literally changed the world. Visit our Innovations Gallery for a sampling of Polytechnic’s notable alumni and faculty.

Passion: We are the place for people who have passion for innovation and success. Our faculty excites that passion in robotics, biotechnology, digital media, computer security and technology management, to name just a few areas of study in which we excel.

Place: NYU-Poly is located in what has been called the “capital of the world.” Students take advantage of New York City by turning it into a living laboratory where they learn “on the job,” through internships and co-op positions at top companies and agencies.

Promise: With fewer than 1,600 undergraduates and 1,300 graduate students and a 12:1 faculty-to-student ratio, we promise to give you the personal attention you need to shine. Our promise does not end after you graduate. Our alumni association offers many networking opportunities for you to stay connected and move ahead.

Prospects: Today’s Polytechnic graduate earns an average starting annual salary of $58,000. Twice a year, 200 companies come to campus to hire students. More than 2,000 CEOs and leaders at large corporations—including Lockheed Martin, Ingersoll-Rand and Xerox—are Polytechnic alumni.

I invite you to explore our web site and visit our campus to see for yourself the many reasons why NYU-Poly is for you.

Very truly yours,

Jerry MacArthur Hultin
