  1. How do I register for a class?

  2. Can I register on the day of the course?
    Students may register on the day of the course by credit card, debit card and company check. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to beginning of course to pick up course materials and information. Please check our website http://cept.poly.edu for schedule changes and updates.
  3. What is the last day to register online?
    The last day for registration online is one week prior to the scheduled starting date for each course; all late registrations must be done by telephone.

  5. What are Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)?
    Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are given and are nationally recognized units of achievement that are used as evidence of increased technical competence. (One-tenth for each hour of participation; i.e., 10 hours = 1 CEU)
  6. What are Professional Development Hours (PDHs)?
    The amount of training hours required by an individual’s Professional Board of Registration for their particular profession.
  7. What is a certificate of Completion? This is a certified document that can be used as proof of completion of the course material; for professional and other purposes.

  11. What if I need to cancel my registration? What is the Continuing Education refund policy?
    For students who cancel three weeks prior to the date of the course they will receive a full refund. For cancellation less than three weeks registration fees can be applied to future courses.
  12. What is the Continuing Education and Professional Training Program’s Cancellation Policy?
    To cancel a course, students must call in directly to the registration desk at least three weeks prior to the course for a full refund. The number is: (718.260.3623)
  13. Is there a discount policy for returning students at School of Continuing Professional?
    Students who take more than one class in the duration of a school year, that is, from September through August the following year, will receive a hundred dollar discount in tuition for subsequent classes taken.
  14. What kinds of courses are offered at Polytechnic’s Continuing Education and Professional Training Program?
    Continuing Education and Professional Training (PolyCEPT) offers courses that are tailored for the career professionals seeking corporate training and continuing education credits.
  15. Can I begin at the Continuing Education and Professional Training program and then transfer the credits I earn toward a degree in an undergraduate or graduate/professional program in another department in Polytechnic Institute of NYU?
    Unfortunately, this is not possible. Our current list of classes is offered as non-credit courses. This non-matriculating status prevents the course from being applicable to a credited degree program offered in the other departments at the Polytechnic Institute of NYU.
  16. Can I take courses or earn a degree or certificate online?
    No. PolyCEPT offers no online courses. But please look at our new offerings at: epoly.poly.edu for new e-learning opportunities.
  17. Is financial aid available to students at PolyCEPT?
    Not at this time.
  18. Does PolyCEPT offer weekend, evening, or summer courses?
    Currently we offer only weekday classes and on-site classes.
  19. If I enroll in the PolyCEPT will I have full access to the facilities of the University?
    While there are some facilities and services that are limited to students in particular schools and programs, PolyCEPT students do have full access to computing, and library services at the University.
