"The NYU-Poly Masters in Biotechnology is a fantastic program with innovative and distinct courses. Course work in many classes included original research articles in place of a textbook, which taught me to think critically. Lectures in some of the courses were delivered by industry professionals from leading U.S companies and offered an additional opportunity to consult with experts. This style of teaching along with constant support from professors gave me the opportunity to improve my skills and abilities.
As part of the program, students can do research projects both at and outside of NYU, in research institutions or private companies. I chose to work in Hyaluronan Biochemistry with Professor Mary Cowman at NYU-Poly. Having this internship on my resume was very helpful when I was looking for a job after completing my studies. Companies looked highly upon my research experience, and the M.S. from NYU-Poly definitely gave me an edge over other applicants. As a result I got a job at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute. After two years at the Cleveland Clinic, I decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and have since been accepted to the Lakehead University in Canada.
NYU-Poly is an extremely enriching environment with exceptional access to scientific exposition. I am very happy with my decision to attend the Polytechnic Institute of NYU."
