Men's Soccer Set for Opener against CSI

Game will be webcasted live

BROOKLYN, NY -  After completing the program's most successful season in school history in 2009 (10-10-1), the NYU-Poly Men's Soccer team is primed to improve on last year's mark.  The Fighting Blue Jays kicks off the 2010 campaign today as they host the College of Staten Island at 3:30pm at Aviator Sports Complex.  The game will be webcast live starting at 3:10pm at   www.csidolphins.com/livegames.asx

The Fighting Blue Jays return nine starter and a nucleus of sophomores and juniors who were pivotal to the teams success in 2009, including a Skyline Conference Semi-Final appearance.

First team All-Conference junior captain Joe Gabor (Warwick, NY) returns to center back, while 2nd team All-Conference member sophomre Allen Rohr (Northridge, CA) is back at center mid.  Other key returning players include leading goal-scorer, junior captain Adam Lakawicz (Butler, NJ), senior captain goal-keeper Rob Petri (St. Louis, MO), sophomores Gursimran Toor (East Meadow, NY) at defense and Omar Guerrero (Austin, TX) at outside mid. Sophomore forward Nick Michalczewski (Miami, FL) had a pair of goals in last year-s match against CSI.
