NYU-Poly’s innovators gathered May 4 to celebrate a remarkable milestone: Within a single academic year of 2010-11, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded 28 patents to 51 Institute researchers – all the more remarkable at an institution with approximately 120 tenured, tenure-track and research professors. The 51 patent-winning researchers included faculty, students and post-docs. Provost Dianne Rekow, Associate Provost for Research and Technology Initiatives Kurt Becker and Director of Innovation Development Bruce Niswander presented the researchers with plaques issued by the Patent Office with an image of the first page of their patent.
