Step 2: Create an Antenna
1. A small black wire is soldered to the printed circuit board (PCB) near the USB port, running out of the back of the iTrip’s plastic case. Cut off or de-solder one end of the wire from the PCB. This will be the antenna for the FM transmitter.

Turn an Obsolete iTrip into a Multi-purpose FM Transmitter
With the joyous birth of a new iPod generation comes the obsolescence of the accessories designed for its parent iteration. Turn one such accessory, an iTrip FM transmitter that lets you listen to your iPod through a radio, into an FM transmitter you can use for all sorts of things: wireless microphone, remote control, prototyping/product development, radio relay. Recent NYU-Poly graduate Ed Bear created this project.
