Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How far ahead can I make a reservation?

You can reserve a room as far ahead as you want.

Can I make a reservation for the same event on different days at the same time?

You can, as long as you first verify on the booking system that the days and times you want are available.

How soon will I know that my request was accepted?

The reservation you have requested will be posted in the system as soon as possible but in any case within
24 hours. You can confirm your reservation by checking its appearance in the booking system.

What happens if two people request a room for the same time?

In this situation the request which is received first will normally have priority. Occasionally a request from
the President's office may override a booking. In such a case, an alternate space will be suggested.

What if I need the room urgently but it is already booked?

If you click on the name of the event in the time slot you need, the system will tell you who reserved the room.
Then you can decide if you want to negotiate with that department or individual. Should you successfully
negotiate a change, you must submit a new form and clearly note this change.

Do I need to notify Facilities and Media Support separately?

No, if you fill out the facilities and/or media boxes, the form will be routed to both departments should your reservation require their support.

What do I do if I need to cancel a booking?

Please email your request for change to Room.Reservation@joshua.poly.edu

Why can't I enter a room reservation myself?
Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Who operates the new reservation system?
The Dibner Library's Jonathan Rogers. He will be in touch with you if there is a problem.
