First and second order partial differential equations and systems of equations. Initial and boundary value problems. Fundamental solutions and Green's functions. Theory of characteristics. Eigenvalue problems. Rayleigh-Ritz and Ritz-Galerkin methods. Approximate and asymptotic methods. Nonlinear equations. Applications.
