WELCOME FROM THE CHAIR
The Department of Technology Management at Polytechnic Institute of NYU is the premier learning, research, and development hub in the New York City/Tri-State region for the broadly defined critical arenas of innovation and technology management.

Professor Mel Horwitch, Ph.D.
Chair, Department of Technology Management
The Department achieves the above aim through high quality and relevant research and development and by offering outstanding and pacesetting learning programs, all of which contribute to theory and practice in an increasingly knowledge-intensive age. In such an era ALL managers will have to understand how technology and innovation are essential for delivering value to organizations and the marketplace.
Our research and development is varied, including scholarly books and articles in the most respected journals and timely and instructive case studies. These cases can be in written or multimedia format--i.e on paper or as digital media.
We are also committed to wisely integrating technology into all of our educational programs to enhance the learning process for our students.
The Department of Technology Management offers a portfolio of educational programs dealing with the broad spectrum of innovation and technology management in the modern economy. These programs include our new techno-innovation management MBA, weekend executive programs awarding a Master's of Science in Telecommunications and Information Management [TIM], a Master's of Science in Management of Technology [MOT] with special Financial [MOTIFS], retail [MOTIR] and BioPharma Tracks, the upcoming AMOT - Accelerated MOT program and evening programs leading to a Master's of Science in Management, or a Master's of Science in Organizational Behavior. In addition there is the Bachelor of Science in Technology Management [BST&IM] and the upcoming PhD in Technology Management [PhDTM]
Increasingly we are also offering shorter term executive programs, including programs tailored to needs of specific firms or industries.
The newest addition to the Department of Technology Management is the Institute for Technology and Enterprise, which is located in the heart of Manhattan's financial district, across the street from the New York Stock Exchange, at the coveted 55 Broad Street. The Institute, among other things, represents a gateway into Manhattan's "Silicon Alley." The Institute functions as an "engine" for high-level research and development for the whole Department.
The Department of Technology Management at NYU-Poly represents a major gateway and opportunity for those aiming to be successful in to the emerging knowledge-intensive and technology-demanding business environment that characterizes almost all sectors of the economy today.
