  1. Students who are placed by placement examination or by an adviser into MA 0902 must defer registration for calculus. Upon successful completion of MA 0902 (2 credits, 1st half) students take MA 0912 (2 credits, 2nd half). Upon successful completion of MA 0912 students may then register for MA 1054. MA 0902 and MA 0912 are developmental math courses and no credit is given towards graduation.

  2. Students who are placed either by the placement examination or by an adviser into EN 1080 should, upon successful completion of this course, enroll in EN 1034.Students originally placed in EN 1090 should, upon successful completion of this course, enroll in EN 1014. Subsequently, once these courses have been successfully completed, students in EN 1014 should register for EN 1204, while students in EN 1034 should enroll in EN 1234.Exceptions may be made to this sequence by the Director of Writing. EN 1080 and EN 1090 are developmental writing courses and no credit is given towards graduation. 

  3. Approved Science electives are CM 1004, BMS 1004 and PH 1004. EG1004 is not an approved Science Elective.

  4. Approved HU/SS electives are courses with the following prefixes: AH, AN, EC, EN, HI, MU, PL, PO, PS and SO. (LA, LW, TC and DM for example, are not approved). Students must follow the Liberal Studies Program directives for Level I Basic Courses, Level II Elective Courses and Level III Advanced Elective Courses, to fulfill the general education requirement.

  5. Restricted Electives are courses in math, science, (HU/SS) humanities and social sciences. Restricted Elective HU/SS courses follow the” Approved HU/SS electives” description in Note 4 above.

  6. Students with a 3.6 GPA or better in major at the end of junior year may substitute MG 4514 Honors Capstone Project I (4 credits) or the Bachelor’s Thesis in Management (4 credits and with permission by the Dept. Chair) for MG 4404. They may also substitute MG 4524 Honors Capstone Project II (4 credits) or the Bachelor’s Thesis (4 credits and with permission by the Dept. Chair) in Management for MG 4204.

  7. Technical Electives can be chosen from computer science, engineering, mathematics, chemistry, physics, bio-molecular sciences, digital media, technical communications and undergraduate finance courses from financial engineering.

  8. The Liberal Arts Elective can be fulfilled by: LA2014, PL2014, PL2064, PL2084, PL2094, PL2104, HI3424 and HI 3324. Students must follow the Liberal Studies Program directives for Level I Basic Courses, Level II Elective Courses and Level III Advanced Elective Courses, to fulfill the general education requirement.

  9. MG 2104 Organizational Behavior (is a BTM requirement and not an elective and) also counts as a bona fide HU/SS course.

  10. Students must select a BSBTM Concentration by the end of the fall semester of the Junior year. Current BSBTM Concentrations: Innovation and Strategy Concentration (Strat Con) & Finance Concentration (Fin Con).

  11. BTM students have the option to register for CP101 & CP201, both provided by the Office Of Career Services. Internships generally run for a 2 to 3 month period following the first year of study. No credit is offered for these CP courses, but they shall appear on the university transcript

  12. Grandfathering rules may apply.
