ME 1012 Introduction to Mechanical Engineering

Description:

This course introduces the range of mechanical engineering, emphasizes the basic principles and devices for storing and using energy, directing motion, and satisfying needs. Case studies in design issues; related ethical and professional practice issues. Emphasis on a mindset of exploration: what are the special principles, value, and applications of such devices as flywheels, counterweights, gyroscopes, and others? Two design challenges to be worked on by teams, and presented. Engineering standards and standard parts.

Co-Requisite: EG 1004 Introduction to Engineering and Design and ME 1112 Computer Aided Design.
