Blackboard (MyPoly) is the course management system NYU-Poly faculty and students use to post/view course information (syllabus, assignments, grades, etc). MyPoly is also an online document repository for commonly-used forms, reference documents, and how-to guides for the entire NYU-Poly community.
Obtaining a MyPoly Account
My Poly accounts are automatically created for the following NYU-Poly users:
- Active students who have officially registered for courses at NYU-Poly within the last year
- Currently-employed faculty and staff members
All other accounts are created/terminated manually and require proper authorization:
- Board of Trustee accounts: Must be approved and/or requested by University Relations
- Retired Professors or Professor Emeritus accounts: Must be approved and/or requested by Human Resources
- Contractor accounts: Must be approved and/or requested by Human Resources
Changing Your MyPoly Password
- Log into MyPoly
- Click on "Account Manager" under Tools on the left side of the main page
- For account type, click on the link under Active Directory (MyPoly / Lab)
- For Domain, select "LABS" if you are a student. Select "VISION2000", if you are a faculty or staff.
- Enter your username and current password
- Enter a new password (at least 6 characters long) & confirm your new password by entering it again in the appropriate textbox.
- Click on the Submit button
- You should receive a message confirming that your password has been changed successfully
Who can access MyPoly Courses?
Access to MyPoly courses are only available to the following users:
- Students who are officially enrolled in the course
- Instructors, TAs and fraders as per Peoplesoft
Access to MyPoly courses can be given to:
- Students who are making-up courses (not officially registered) and need to access course materials posted in MyPoly. The course instructor must submit a request to the IS Help Desk and the student must have an existing MyPoly account to gain access.
Add an instructor, TA or Grader to an Official NYU-Poly Course
Contact the Registrar and provide them with the following information:
- Course Subject and Number, e.g., EG1004
- 4-digit Class Number or Class Section
- 7-Digit Employee/Student ID Number
- Role Type (Instructor, TA, Grader)
Add Any User to a Custom Course
Submit a request with the IS Help Desk along with the following information:
- Course Subject & Number (Ex: EG1004)
- Instructor's 7-Digit Employee ID Number
- Role Type (Instructor, TA, Grader)
- NOTE: It may take up to 24 hours for you to gain access once your request is processed. However, it often takes as little as 1 to 2 hours.
