Before You Arrive and What to Bring

Before You Come to Campus

Submit your Tuition Deposit, a $300 (US Dollars) payment that reserves your place in the upcoming academic term. Your deposit is credited to your first semester's tuition bill. You will need your Polytechnic Institute of NYU student number in order to complete the tuition deposit transaction. This number is located in the heading of your admission letter. You can submit your payment securely on the NYU-Poly web site.

Transportation from the Airport to Accommodations

From:JFK

The cheapest transportation option available is using public transportation. AirTran ($5) is a service from the Airport to major transit centers. From there Buses, and Subway lines run throughout the city via NYC MTA ($2.25)

Taxi Cab fares range from:

  • $48 - $52 to Downtown Brooklyn (Plus tolls and tip)
  • $45 Flat Fare to Manhattan (Plus tolls and tip)

From: Newark

Public Transportation is the cheapest option available. Air Tran, combined with NJTransit Buses, or Trains cost between $30 - $50

Taxi Cab fares range from:

  • $65 - $82 to New York City (Plus tolls and tip)

 

What to Bring

You will need the following documents for orientation and the registration process:

International Students

  • Passport
  • Official visa
  • I-20 (all original copies)
  • I-94
  • Original transcripts*
  • Original TOEFL
  • Original GRE

Upon arrival you will report to the Graduate Center Enrollment located in Regna Lounge (Rogers Hall, Lobby Level)

Domestic Students

  • Photo ID
  • Original Transcripts*

*If you have already submitted your Original Transcripts, you do not need to bring them.
