Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)

What is a CGPA Conditional Admission?

Undergraduate CGPA and standardized exams (GRE or GMAT) are utilized as a measure to gauge potential success in graduate school.  As per the recommendation from the admissions committee, you have been admitted to the Polytechnic Institute of NYU (NYU-Poly) with a low Undergraduate CGPA and/or low exam score and are therefore required to maintain a CGPA of 3.0 or above for the length of time or number of credit hours stipulated in your acceptance letter. This is a requirement you must fulfill in order to continue with your academic degree program and it is a stipulation of your acceptance to the Graduate School at NYU-Poly.

Registration

In a student’s first semester, registration will be facilitated during orientation. Students must sign-in with the Graduate Center to have their student account hold temporarily lifted and then meet with their academic advisor before registering for classes online. In each subsequent semester while fulfilling a CGPA conditional admission, students must visit the Graduate Center to have their hold temporarily lifted for class registration.

Waivers

There are no waivers for students with CGPA conditional admissions.
