Health Insurance

All NYU-Poly students (undergraduate and graduate) who are enrolled in 9 or more credits will automatically be enrolled in our school-sponsored health insurance plan. The fee for this plan will be placed on your tuition bill. Domestic students may choose to opt out of the insurance plan (see below). All international students are rquried to have the school-sponsored health insurance plan regardless of the number of credits enrolled in for the current semester.

The Waiver deadline for Fall 2009 domestic student waivers has passed.

New Students (January 2010)

All NYU-Poly students (Undergraduate and Graduate) for the Spring 2010 semester who are enrolled in 9 or more credits will automatically be enrolled in the school-sponsored health insurance plan. The fee for this plan will be placed on your tuition bill. Coverage will be from January 19, 2010 and end on August 24, 2010. The semester fee is $409 for Spring 2010 per student. All international students are required to be on the school-sponsored plan regardless of the number of credits enrolled in for the current semester.

The waiver period (new domestic students only) for Spring 2010 is February 20, 2010.  If you have questions regarding your enrollment, your card or the plan, please contact Malinda Townsend of Collegiate Insurance Resources at 1-800-322-9901 for assistance.

Remember your health insurance is provided by Combined Insurance and your Pharmacy plan is provided by Medco.

NEW International students
You are REQUIRED to be enrolled in the school-sponsored plan as part of your enrollment at NYU-Poly regardless of your number of credits enrolled in for the current semester. If you are an International Student at NYU-Poly, you MUST print your card by February 20, 2010. Coverage will begin on January 19, 2010 and end on August 24, 2010. The semester fee is $409 for Spring 2010.

NEW Domestic Student Enrollment
You MUST complete the enrollment information by February 20, 2010 for spring 2010 coverage. Coverage will begin on January 19, 2010 and end on August 24, 2010. The sooner you enroll the sooner you will have your coverage information. The semester fee is $409 for Spring 2010

How to Waive for Students with Alternative Health Insurance
(New Spring 2010 Domestic students only)
If you have private insurance with comparable coverage, you have until February 20, 2010 to waive the school plan. Applying for a waiver does not automatically waive you out of the plan. You will be contacted by the insurance carrier if there are questions regarding your waiver. If you do not waive by the February 20, 2010 deadline, you will be responsible for the fee.

CONTINUING STUDENTS

Continuing Intiernational Students
You are REQUIRED to enroll in the school-sponsored plan as part of your enrollment at NYU-Poly regardless of your number of credits enrolled in for the current semester. You will be charged $341 for the spring 2010 semester. You must  print your updated insurance card by February 19, 2010.

Continuing Domestic Students that were Part-Time and are now Full-time
All NYU-Poly students (Undergraduate and Graduate) who were part-time in the fall 2009 semester and are now enrolled in 9 or more credits for the Spring 2010 semester will automatically be enrolled in the school–sponsored health insurance plan.  The fee for this plan will be placed on your tuition bill. Coverage will be from January 19, 2010 and end on August 24, 2010. The semester fee is $409 for Spring 2010 per student.  Domestic student may waive if they have comparable coverage.

Continuing Students that waived for Fall 2009
All NYU-Poly students (Undergraduate and Graduate) who waived the student health insurance for the fall 2009 semester will be waived for the spring 2010 semester.  If you were waived out for the fall 2009 and now see a charge for the spring 2010 semester, please notify Student Accounts.

Continuing Students that enrolled in the health insurance plan for Fall 2009
All NYU-Poly students (Undergraduate and Graduate) who enrolled in the student health insurance for the fall 2009 semester will continue to be enrolled until August 24, 2010.  You will be charged $341 for the spring 2010 semester. You must  print your updated insurance card by February 19, 2010

Continuing Students that waived for Fall 2009 and want to enroll for Spring 2010

Other Coverage

Part-Time Domestic Students
For domestic students enrolled in fewer than nine credits, school-sponsored insurance is optional. If you do not want coverage, you do not have to do anything. The fee for Spring 2010 part-time students is $531 for coverage from January 19, 2010 to August 24, 2010.

Coverage for spouses and children

Non-Insurance Discount Program

A voluntary discount program is available to all NYU-Poly students. It provides students, and those within their household, with discounts on the following services: vision care, dental care, prescription drugs, chiropractic care, alternative medicine, hearing services, vitamins and nutritional supplements, and a national fitness program. Discounts range from 10-50% depending upon the services utilized. The annual cost is $29. Again, this is a discount program and is not health insurance. Dental Care

Through our affiliation with NYU, the College of Denistry Stu-Dent plan is now available to NYU-Poly students. This program is not associated with the NYU-Poly student health insurance plan.

We provide treatment at convenient times and in a convenient location, making it easy to fit dental care into your busy schedule. And our low enrollment fee is less than it would cost to visit us just once for a check-up, cleaning & x-ray.
