Kalvert named Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week
Clifton Park, NY - The Polytechnic Institute of NYU women's volleyball team has won eight straight matches, including the last seven without dropping a set. A huge part of their success has been the play of sophomore, middle blocker, Victoria Kalvert, who was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week.

Sophomore Middle Blocker - Missouri City, Texas (Elkins HS)
Sophomore middle blocker Victoria Kalvert sparked Polytechnic Institute of NYU to a 6-0 week by averaging 2.89 kills, 0.72 service aces, and 0.44 blocks while hitting .489 (52-9-88). The Fighting Blue Jays have won eight straight matches, including seven in a row without dropping a set. In three Skyline wins last week, Kalvert had 24 kills with just five errors in 42 attempts (.452). She currently leads the conference in hitting at .350.
NYU-Poly Sweeps Rookie of the Week Honors - Sept. 21, 2009
Clifton Park, NY- For the first time since joining the Skyline Conference, the NYU-Poly Fighting Blue Jays swept the Rookie of the Week honors. For the week of September 14-20, Ariel Zeig (women's tennis), Allen Rohr (men's soccer), and Corey Loupee (women's volleyball) were named Rookie of the Week.

Freshman Midfielder Northridge, Calif. (Granada Hills Charter)
Polytechnic Institute of NYU freshman center midfielder Allen Rohr helped the Fighting Blue Jays record a pair of wins last week. Rohr assisted on the game-winning goal as NYU-Poly opened conference play with a 3-1 win over Yeshiva. He then scored the game-winning goal in the team’s 3-0 win over Berkeley. NYU-Poly, currently at 4-4 on the season, is off to the best start in program history.

Freshman West Nyack, N.Y. (Pearl River HS)
Polytechnic Institute of NYU freshman Ariel Zeig was unbeaten in three matches at No. 1 singles last week, including 2-0 in Skyline Conference play. Zeig, who won four straight since dropping her opening match, recorded victories against Mount Saint Vincent and St. Joseph’s. She helped the fighting Blue Jays to a 6-3 win over Mount Saint Vincent, marking the team’s first Skyline win in three years of conference play.
Corey Loupee, NYU-Poly, Women's Volleyball
Freshman Middle Hitter Crowne Point, Ind. (Boone Grove HS)
Polytechnic Institute of NYU freshman middle hitter Corey Loupee earns Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight week after helping the Fighting Blue Jays sweep a tri-match with York (N.Y.) and William Paterson. Loupee hit .395 (19-2-43) while averaging 2.71 kills and 1.14 service aces. In a 3-1 win over William Paterson, she hit .438 (16-2-32) with three aces, four digs and 2.5 blocks
