For those of you looking for Harvard Business School Case Studies, be aware that they are not made available to libraries (strict copyright restrictions ensure that they provide a large income stream to HBS).  More information on how to get copies of Harvard cases is available on the Case Studies page.

Unlike many of our other databases, its focus is not on scholarly journals. However, if you want to search newspaper articles from past or present, research company performance, or find legal information, it is hard to top Lexis Nexis Academic.

It provides access to over 6,000 news, business, and legal sources. You can search the entire database at once, or engage in highly specialized searching, such as for detailed company information and financial performance, or search all federal and states court cases back to 1789.

Currently you can read newspapers that have already been digitized,  but Google will now scan, and absorb the costs of scanning, papers that have not yet been digitized. (more…)

SAGE provides the full text of over 480 peer-reviewed scholarly journals in a wide range of disciplines including:

All journals are available in full-text .pdf format, dating back to 1999, with select journals dating back further.

Log in to access SAGE when off campus, and check out the full list of the journals included in the database. When searching or browsing for materials, make sure “SAGE Content Available to Me” is selected opposed to “SAGE Full-Text Collections” to ensure you retrieve information from all available journals.

Sign up for a SAGE user name and password to utilize journal email alerts, store lists of your favorite journals and save searches.

Science Direct’s extensive full text collection covers authoritative titles from the core scientific literature.  But don’t let the name mislead you - in addition to Life, Health, Physical  and Materials Sciences, this database also covers Engineering, Mathematics, Management, and Arts & Humanities.  Many of the journals include coverage back to 1995.

To get the most out of Science Direct, take advantage of the User Guides and Tutorials and the tips on Searching Options.
