Spurred on by expanding sales in an otherwise somber market, Random House is expanding the number of books in its digital collection.

In a statement  reported by the Associated Press, the company says that digital book sales have expanded exponentially, mostly due to Amazon’s Kindle reader, so the time has come to make more of the collection available electronically.

Excerpt’s of digital books are available on the Random House website.

Good news for those of you that have an iPhone or iPod Touch — with the freeware application Stanza, available in the apple app store and also on the stanza website: http://www.lexcycle.com/ you can download a small selection of Random House bestsellers to your device. You can also use the Dibner Library links to online books to find, read and download thousands of books to your iPhone, computer, and many other handheld devices.
