Telecommunication Network Management (Certificate)

The explosive growth of data networks has brought with it the need for effective network management. The widespread deployment of standards-based solutions (e.g., SNMP) is but a first step in dealing with the complexity of network management. A thorough knowledge of network protocols and network management standards is necessary for any practitioner in this area. The program consists of four required courses and one recommended elective course.

Required Courses:
EL536 Principles of Communication Networks (formerly EL 635)
EL537 Protocols for Local Area Networks (Internet course)
Or:
CS684 Network Protocols I
EL637 Local and Metropolitan Area Networks
CS682 Network Management and Security
Recommended Elective Courses (choose 1)
EL736 Communication Networks II (Network Design and Algorithms)
CS681 Information, Privacy & Security
EL735 Communication Networks I (Performance Analysis and Modeling)
