About the Position
As a result of its recent affiliation with New York University, Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly) is aggressively recruiting new faculty in its engineering departments, and upgrading and expanding its research infrastructure. We are now seeking applications and nominations for the Eugene Kleiner Chair for Innovation in Mechanical Engineering. The position carries attractive and competitive compensation package as well as substantial start-up support from the university.
Responsibilities
The candidate is expected to establish visible research programs with external funding, identify and exploit strategic opportunities for linkages to other departments at NYU-Poly and to other Schools and partner universities of NYU, and develop novel educational offerings in mechanical engineering. We are interested in an individual who embraces academic entrepreneurship and whose research supports NYU-Poly’s core values of invention, innovation and entrepreneurship (i2e) in an academic setting. The ideal candidate will have earned international reputation for high-quality research with a record of obtaining extramural funding, strong publication record and academic leadership, including evidence of building interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research teams.
