About the Position

The Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department of the Polytechnic Institute of NYU invites applications and nominations for the Joseph J. and Violet J. Jacobs Chair in Chemical Engineering. The Jacobs Professor will have earned an international reputation for excellence in research, preferably in an area related to smart systems or materials with biological applications.The ideal candidate will have a record of leadership in building inter- or multi-disciplinary research teams, a strong publication record, proven success in obtaining external research funding, and strong interest and experience in invention, innovation and entrepreneurship. The Jacobs Professor will actively participate in institutional and departmental strategic programs and planning, and in modern chemical engineering education.
