About the Position
The Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department of the Polytechnic Institute of NYU invites applications and nominations for the Alstadt-Lord-Mark Chair in the Natural Sciences. The role of the ALM Professor is to contribute significantly to research and education in the natural sciences, in order to nourish and advance the engineering technology essential to supporting the national economy. The ALM Professor will have earned an international reputation for excellence in research in an area related to the interface between biology and engineering, and will be an integral member of NYU’s bioengineering initiative. The ideal candidate will have a record of leadership in building inter- or multi-disciplinary research teams, a strong publication record, proven success in obtaining external research funding, and strong interest and experience in invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The ALM Professor will actively participate in institutional and departmental strategic programs and planning, and in modern bioengineering education.
