Purpose: Introduce competition; provide materials with dates, contacts, requirements (start informal networking / teamhunt)
Sparkstart Kickoff
Date: 02/04 Monday 6-8pm
Location: Poly (Private dining)
Purpose: Official TeamHunt, pitch ideas and skills
Idea Validation
Date: Available online
Location: poly.edu/innovention
Purpose: Learn methods to validate your ideas, learn about an IP or patent issues, pivoting, market gap
Entrepreneur 101
Date: 02/12 Tuesday 6-8pm
Location: RH200
Purpose: Teach customer development, introduce business model canvas, elevator pitch, presentation skills, explaining your idea, formulating a team and taking the first steps

Purpose: Students work with incubator staff / EIA / mentors to refine their idea, what are the next steps with your idea

Purpose: Update of idea or vision, show us their research of market opportunity, progress update, plan for prototype / validation (how are they doing this if we haven’t had the prototyping workshop)

Date: 02/20 Wednesday 11-2pm
Location: Greenhouse @ Poly
Purpose: Samir Ajmera is the manager of the NYU-Poly DUMBO Incubator Incubator initiative. He has experience in product and business development, prototype to commercialization, negotiating licensing and fundraising terms. In 2008, co-founded Anzenna with two NYU professors.

Purpose: Students network with entrepreneurs, faculty, and alumni (speed date for mentors), opportunity for elevator pitches of their idea, get feedback from participants

ProtoTest Info Session
Date: 03/04 Monday 12-1 pm

Purpose: Instruct teams important dates of second part of competition, learn how to prototype and make wireframes, network
Prototyping
Date: 03/08 Friday 4-6pm

Purpose: Prototyping best practicies, steps to prototype, available resources at NYU/NYU-Poly

Purpose: Students will learn how to conduct research into the markets which they are entering. Students will learn the competitive landscape as well as conduct further customer development.
