APPLICATION
Guidelines for Applicants
The following is an outline of the steps that must be taken to apply for admission to BEST. Also listed are the minimum requirements that must be met to qualify for the program and the criteria by which each application will be evaluated.

Steps for Client Selection:
- Complete the application and submit it via US Mail or deliver it in person to:

- The Director will evaluate the application to see if it meets the requirements for admission. You will then be notified if your business is eligible for consideration.
- If you are eligible, you must submit eight (8) copies of each of the following:
- Your completed and signed application (incomplete applications will not be considered)
- Resumes of business owner and other key personnel
- Current business plan
- Current financial statement
- Personal credit report (or a small fee to cover BEST cost)
- Three (3) references
Note: The selection committee may request additional information to determine if the minimum qualifications have been satisfied.
- The BEST Advisory Committee will review your application and the supporting documents. Your business will be evaluated according to the evaluation criteria listed below.
- If the Committee decides not to consider your application, you will be notified of their decision.
- If the Committee decides to consider your application, an interview with the business owner may be requested.
- The Director will notify you of the Committee's final decision.
- If you are accepted, you will choose an office and sign a lease.
Note: Please note that this process may require between 45 to 60 days to complete.
Minimum Qualifications for Clients
- The business must be a full-time operation once it moves into the incubator.
Evaluation Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Potential for growth and job creation
- Need for the services of the incubator and a willingness to accept assistance indicated
- Local economic diversifications
- The viability of the business and potential for success
- The marketing opportunity and approach
- The management team
- Resources available to the business
- The compatibility of the business to the incubator program and facility
