The Creation of the NYU-Poly Logo

We created the logo after extensive research, involving input from faculty, alumni, prospective new undergraduate/graduate students, parents, corporate partners, staff and current students across campuses.

It represents the connection between New York University and Polytechnic and provides a strong, consistent look that supports our mission to excel as a leading, high-quality research institution engaged in education, discovery and innovation with social, intellectual and economic impact in the New York region, the nation and the world.

Usage

To establish the full identity of our institution, the logo should be used in its official, unaltered official form, i.e., do not stretch, change colors, enlarge to the point of pixilation, manually type the letterforms, or otherwise modify the logo. The minimum width of the logo is 1 inch.

If you would like to obtain a digital copy of the NYU logo please contact the Communications and Marketing Department.

On the right are examples of the logos we will be working with individual departments to create this summer. All departments must adhere to this visual identity. Under our new affiliation, individual department logos will be eliminated.

Colors

It is important to maintain a consistent use of both colors to support the creation of a strong, recognizable identity. They can be produced using either spot colors or four-color process. RGB values should only be used for electronic media, such as the web, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
