Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly) seeks an exceptional leader to head its Department of Civil Engineering.

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a related field, be a proven mid-career or senior scholar and researcher, and be interested in multidisciplinary partnerships. The selected candidate will join NYU-Poly during an exciting time. The recent affiliation between New York University (NYU) and Polytechnic Institute has positioned NYU-Poly for exceptional growth in the size of its faculty, student body, research and other facilities.

The new Department Head will provide leadership and vision in the expansion of the Civil Engineering Department, which includes the ability to recruit several new faculty members. The successful candidate also will build upon and develop new interdisciplinary collaborations with other departments and schools within New York University, as well as work to better integrate NYU-Poly’s i2e initiative (invention, innovation and entrepreneurship) into the Department’s curriculum, research and programming.
