GENERAL INFORMATION
Our faculty is dedicated to providing students with the tools they will need to understand the world in which they live. Preparing our students to think critically and communicate effectively is central to the mission of our department.
Our faculty combines outstanding academic credentials with a real devotion to teaching undergraduates. Today’s engineers and scientists need a background in the humanities and social sciences in order to make well-reasoned decisions involving human values implicit in technological options, to understand the ways human beings see themselves and the natural and social worlds, and to communicate effectively. We aim to provide this breadth of knowledge both to students who major in our department and those who specialize in other disciplines.
