I am currently enrolled in the BS/MS Honors program pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters degree in Financial Engineering. I am planning to specialize in Telecommunications and Information Science for my Bachelors. The areas that interest me are coding for encryption, wireless information networks and speech recognition and generation. For my Masters, I plan to take the Computational Finance track. Modeling, simulation and optimization in Operations Research and Management Science in finance form the core of this track. My GPA so far has been 4.0 and I work with the Math Department as a tutor. I provide walk-in and one-on-one tutoring for freshman and sophomore level Math courses. I am also a recipient of the Othmer Full-Tuition Scholarship. In Spring, 2008, I plan to spend a semester abroad at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. This experience will let me glimpse a different approach towards my degree and broaden my horizons in terms of prospective internships and jobs. I eventually want to work at a position which will utilize my technical base and my specialization in management and finance. The Honors College significantly enhances and complements my experience in college. It provides an extremely diverse and intellectually stimulating peer community and support system that encourages growth in all aspects and helps one become a skilled and well-rounded individual. I strongly recommend the Honors Program and encourage students to endeavor to be a part of this community.
