Welcome from the Dean of Student Affairs!

Hello Polytechnic Faculty and Staff:
As a faculty or staff member of the Polytechnic community, you have the ability to assist in keeping a look out for our students.  You have the most contact time with our students and are a great resource to report concerns regarding students to those that can assist them in overcoming some roadblocks at NYU-Poly and ensure their success.  This system is set up to assist you to report such concerns.

This page is set up to address frequently asked concerns faculty and staff have regarding the well-being of our students.

We as the faculty, staff and administrators work with students to build a community of learners and to create an environment that promotes leadership, values diversity and respect for others, and fosters learning both in and out of the classroom.  We promote an environment that cares for its members.  It takes the entire community to ensure the success of all of our students.  As role models, teachers, mentors and advocates we need to ensure that we are armed with the necessary information to assist our student in the journey through Poly.

At times students tend not to seek assistance or resources to assist them in times of difficulty. We continually encourage students to set high goals, but we also need to remember to encourage them to balance all of their responsibilities.  This will guide them to remain focused and healthy.

This approach to looking out for the well-being of students as been a part of Poly’s 150 + years of rich tradition and will play an integral role in creating the future of PolyThinking with an eye on inventiveness, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Best wishes for a successful year!
