Profile

Bohdan is an Adjunct Professor in the Management Department at Polytechnic Institute of NYU where he ocassionally lectures undergraduates on Project Planning and Quality Management, Global Perspectives on Technology Management, as well as on Organizational Behavior.

Currently, Bohdan is the Administrative Director of The Dept of Management’s BS BTM UG Program and is also the Executive Assistant to the Department Chair of the Management Department at Polytechnic Institute of NYU.

Bohdan is a native New Yorker with nineteen years of proven multi-disciplinary global industry experience. He began his career as a development engineer specializing in bit slice architectures for the Singer Company, Kearfott Division. The tasks there revolved around classified military aerospace electronics.

He has been employed internationally in positions in the United States, as well as in Europe; Switzerland, Sweden and the Netherlands, where his activities have taken him on business worldwide, where he managed numerous teams of IT professionals and students.

His 11 year international career began with the multi-national Brown Boveri (now ABB) as an engineering specialist, and then at the multi-national Philips Electronics. While at Philips, his roles spanned areas such as:

  • International Business Management within the Personal Computer Division,
  • MIS design and development together with Office Automation,
  • Product and Marketing Management and in the area of Personal Computers and Connectivity - Networking.
  • Corporate training on networking technology and growing a networking business
  • Intellectual Property (IP) License Management within Compact Disc and Digital Compact Cassette, where his responsibilities ranged between Licensing Manager, Product Manager and MIS Project Manager.
  • Student Mentor during the MIS project, where he maintained a vibrant mentoring program with the Eindhoven Technische Hoog School in the Netherlands.

His professional management interests are within the management of human resources in an IT context and issues such as productivity, knowledge management, process re-engineering, cross functional team building, employee retention - career management and organizational - cultural change.

His clinical interests are within clinical and depth psychology diverse multi-national corporate cultures, philosophy of technology, cyborgs and transhumanism and the evolution of photography. He also pursues his passion as a fine art photographer.

Bohdan's Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology is from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, California. His dissertation: ”Anima Machinae - Machinae Deus Ex” revolves around the relationships between technology (Artificial Life, anthropomorphic robots & cyborgs), myths, religions and (Jungian based analytic) depth psychology. Bohdan has completed his pre-doctoral clinical internships which have spanned two of the foremost mental health agencies in the tri-state region, as well as the Polytechnic Institute of NYU Counseling Center.
