Why is NYU-Poly transforming its Brooklyn campus?
A: Recognition of the power of physical spaces forms the cornerstone of Polytechnic Institute of NYU's i2e Campus Transformation, a project to rebuild and renovate areas of our downtown Brooklyn campus - from flexible classrooms designed for better collaboration and laboratories designed to stimulate research to common areas that facilitate spontaneous brainstorming and entrances that simply look stunning.

What's the 'i2e' in the i2e Campus Transformation?
A: NYU-Poly is leading invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship - what we call "i2e" - by arming faculty and students with the tools, resources, and inspiration to turn their research into applications, products, and services that take flight as faculty- and student-owned companies.

How does the campus transformation map to NYU-Poly's enrollment goals?
A: The capital plan for the NYU-Poly i2e Campus Transformation is being driven by the academic plan for the institution. The academic plan projects such information as future enrollment, faculty recruitment needs, and the types of academic spaces required to facilitate anticipated growth. The capital plan proposals currently under consideration reflect the projections of the academic plan.

What kind of plans do you have for current students? How will the campus transformation help us?
A: The capital planning that NYU-Poly is undergoing is being driven by the academic plans for the institution. The capital plan projects the things we need - world-class faculty, state-of-the-art laboratories and learning environments - to make NYU-Poly a highly regarded, and highly ranked science and engineering school. As NYU-Poly moves up in the rankings, the value of the degree you earn here increases. Conceivably, our alumni could enjoy better career opportunities and increased earning potential, as a result.
Additionally, as a current student, not only are you here at a pivotal time in NYU-Poly's history, but you have a pivotal role to play. Your input and feedback - along with that of other members of the NYU-Poly community - will be instrumental in helping to chart the course for the future.
