Departmental Policies

Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Polytechnic Institute of NYU! Although a relatively small CS department, we are remarkably productive in our research and highly innovative in our curricula. We like to say that we are “one of the top-5 small CS departments in the USA” since we are one of a handful of CS departments ranked by US News and World Reports with fewer than 15 research faculty.  Much of our research and pedagogy stresses the engineering side of Computer Science  -- hence , the title Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).  Current research and degree programs focus on:

• Cybersecurity
• Internet and Web Research
• Graphics, Visualization, Vision and Image Processing
• Theoretical Computer Science.
