Welcome to the Polytechnic Institute of NYU Counseling Center!
The Counseling Center offers a variety of services designed to help Polytechnic Institute of NYU Students achieve their maximum potential academically, personally, and professionally.

The Counseling Center is located on the third floor of the Jacobs Administration building in room 358. We are open Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. If you would like to schedule an appointment please call us at 718-260-3456.

In addition to extensive counseling services for students, we provide resources for faculty, staff, and parents. Please feel free to consult the following guides if you notice that your student or child seems to be in distress:

Counseling Center Director
Luis G. Manzo, Ph.D.
Luis is a licensed psychologist and completed his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University in Chicago. In addition, Luis received his master’s degree in sports psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Prior to becoming the Director of the Counseling Center at Polytechnic Institute of NYU, Luis served as the Assistant Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Montclair State University and was on staff at the University of Notre Dame and Lafayette College.

Luis has focused his career on helping students to successfully transition from high school to college and beyond.  He specializes in providing performance enhancement services to students wishing to stretch their abilities and maximize their potential. In addition, Luis has an expertise in the assessment, treatment and prevention of addictive disorders.

Luis’ work with students integrates elements of motivational interviewing and solution-focused approaches with an existential and relational perspective.
