There are several tools and departments at NYU-Poly that you can work with to promote events, share research, department, and individual news, and generate media interest. Below are some of the most common resources you’ll want to use and people who you can reach out to for support and advice.

Promote Events
On poly.edu
Follow these instructions to add events to the poly.edu calendar
- Only faculty and staff can currently post to the site. We are working with Student Development to create a review and approval system for posting student events to the site.
On the LCD Screens
If you add an event to the website (see above) it will automatically appear on one of the LCD screens around campus. If you prefer to promote your event with a digital poster, refer to these guidelines and instructions.

Update Profile and Directory Info
Your Profile on poly.edu
Follow these instructions to update your profile on poly.edu. If you are a new faculty or staff member, contact support@webteam.poly.edu to have your account activated.
- Currently, only faculty and staff profiles are visible on poly.edu
Your Directory Info
Go to the web directory, click “Update Your Info,” and submit your changes
- What’s the difference between the directory and profiles? The directory contains your contact information; profiles contain much more — from education and experience to publications and patents.
Update a Page on Poly.edu
The NYU-Poly website is built on a content management system (CMS) that lets approved users (generally faculty and staff) edit and create web pages. There are a few ways you can edit and maintain web pages:
- Correct one-off errors or have updates made: Send an email to support@webteam.poly.edu with the URL of the page and an explanation of the correction or update that needs to be made.
- Get direct access to make changes: Contact Erin L Newton to arrange for an overview of the CMS and to discuss who else in your department may need access. For example, some professors assign GAs to maintain pages in their department’s or program’s area of the site.
Respond to Media Inquires
Journalists or other representatives from newspapers, television, and other media outlets may reach out to you for comment about an area of research that you are active in or a subject matter that you are an expert in. Contact Kathleen Hamilton for guidance on how to best share your expertise.
Create Print Marketing Materials
Contact Michelle Kerr for help creating or reviewing printed marketing materials, such as brochures, signage for special events, or any other communication with the NYU-Poly logo on it.
