TR683  The Intersection: Design and Control

Description:

Issues of design and control of at-grade intersections are covered in detail in this course. Options for intersection control are discussed and guidelines for determining the most effective measures are applied. Sight distance requirements and warrants for various forms of control are reviewed and applied. Signing and marking of intersections are illustrated. Signal timing methods are presented and applied. Capacity and level of service analysis for signalized and unsignalized intersections is treated in detail. Current software applications are presented.
