TR 6323 Traffic Control and Signalization II

Description:

Continuation of TR 6313. Emphasis on the arterial as a facility, and on systems concepts such as traffic calming, access management, and roundabouts as a design element. Network problems induced by traffic congestion and remedies such as critical intersection control, network metering, oversaturated control policies, and real time sensing. Traffic impacts from growth and development, including assessment and mitigation. Use of modern tools, including VISSIM, Synchro/SIMTraffic, and HCS++. The course centers on two projects done by students working in teams.
