The Outstanding Graduate Award is the highest honor bestowed upon a student at NYU-Poly. It was created in 1992 as a way for the Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association to recognize members of the graduating class who demonstrate academic excellence, co- and extra-curricular involvement, personal potential, and a commitment to giving back to Polytechnic after graduation.
Nominees must meet the following requirements:
Faculty, staff, administrators, and student organization leaders are encouraged to make nominations for this award. To nominate a student, please submit their name, major, and email address to:

The PIAA invites seniors who are applying for graduation to self-nominate for this award.
The PIAA is dedicated to honoring the achievements, both inside and outside the classroom, of NYU-Poly’s outstanding students. The process for selection includes a detailed application, references, essay questions, and finalist interviews.
Finalists will be published in the Commencement Program, recognized at the Commencement Awards and Achievement Ceremony, and the winner will be announced during NYU-Poly’s Commencement Ceremony. The recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Award also receives a monetary reward from the Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association.
