Note: all students (freshman, international, or transfer) should use the application available from the link above when applying to NYU-Poly.
Before You Apply (suggested)
Campus Tours and Interviews
We strongly encourage you to visit the NYU-Poly campus you hope to attend. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is open from Monday to Friday, as well as every other Saturday for tours, information sessions and/or admission interviews. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please call: 1-800-POLYTECH.
Before You Apply (required)
As an applicant to NYU-Poly you will need:
- SAT I or ACT scores
- 4 years of science (including chemistry and physics)
- 4 years of mathematics (algebra through pre-calculus)
- To review individual department guidelines for specific application requirements for the major/program you are interested in
Application Deadlines
You are encouraged to apply for fall no later than April 2 for maximum scholarship and residence hall opportunities. However, applications for admission are reviewed on a rolling basis. You will receive a decision within four weeks after your file is complete.
Application Checklist
When completing and returning your application, please read the checklist below to ensure that you have included the appropriate items and information (this list can be found on the application itself):
- Completed application
- Have you requested your official transcript?
- Application fee of $50.00 payable to “Polytechnic Institute of NYU”
- Standardized test scores (SAT, ACT or TOEFL)
- Personal essay
- 2 letters of recommendation
- Declaration of Finances (international students)

All listed expenses are for entire academic year (2009-2010) at full-time enrollment:

If You Are Accepted
Admitted NYU-Poly students who plan to enroll will be required to take 2 placement examinations prior to their registration.
What about Advanced Placement Credit?
Students can obtain college credit at NYU-Poly for their work on the Advanced Placement examinations (AP). (See a full list of how we apply AP scores to credit.) Please request that the Educational Testing Service (ETS) send your Advanced Placement scores to:
