Advanced Placement (AP) Credit

Students can obtain college credit at NYU-Poly for select work on the Advanced Placement examinations (AP). Please request that the Educational Testing Service (ETS) send your Advanced Placement scores to Undergraduate Admissions.

Below are details about how different departments apply AP scores to specific courses and credits. AP examinations which are not listed below are not awarded credit at NYU-Poly. Specific requirements for administering college credit for the International Baccalaureate Exam, French Baccalaureate, or General Certificate Exam, etc., vary from department to department. Physics Physics C 4 or 5 Mechanics Exam: 3 credits in Physics and exempted from PH 1013. Electricity and Magnetism Exam: 3 credits in Physics and exempted from PH 2023. Both Exams: 6.5 credits in Physics and exempted from PH 1013, PH 2023 and PH 2021.
