Polytechnic Merit Based Scholarships & Need-Based Grants

PROMISE SCHOLARSHIPS
Amount of Scholarship: Up to $18,000

Who is considered: The Promise Scholarships are merit based.

Requirements: In order to be considered for the Promise Scholarships, it is necessary for students to submit the items listed below, as part of their application to the university. There is not a separate application to be considered for Poly's merit scholarships.

Promise Scholarship Required Documents:
  • Transcripts
  • SAT/ACT/TOEFL exam scores
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Essay
  • An interview is recommended
HONORS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
Amount of Scholarship: $20,000 to $30,000

The Honors College at Polytechnic Institute of NYU is for the most exemplary students. After gaining admission into NYU-Poly and having been evaluated for a Promise Scholarship, students who are eligible for the Honors College will be contacted for an Honors College Interview. Once admitted into the Honors College, students will receive an additional scholarship.
POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY FIRST SCHOLARSHIP
Amount of Scholarship: $10,000

Who is considered: High school juniors/seniors who have participated on a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) or FIRST Vex Challenge (FVC) team.

NEED-BASED GRANTS
Amount of Need-Based Grant: Up to $20,000

The need-based NYU-Poly grant is based on family income, and need and is determined after a student has filed their FAFSA. NYU-Poly grants can total up to $20,000 a year. The NYU-Poly grant was instituted to narrow the gap between federal and state financial aid and the cost of education for middle income families.
