Wireless Computing

Polytechnic was the first in New York to have a totally wireless campus, and every undergraduate is required to have a notebook computer with wireless capabilities. Notebook technology has been widely integrated into the curriculum, using tools such as AutoCad Lite, Labview Common Space, Matlab, Microsoft Front Page, etc. Undergraduates are able to create their own Web access page, called "My Poly," to examine their personal course information, student records, financial aid details, and anything else they wish. Students may use the computers in the University's central computer labs and various specialized labs. Students living in the Donald F. and Mildred Topp Othmer Residence Hall have top-of-the-line voice and data connections.
