    The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program) is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. The Post-9/11 GI Bill will cover your tuition and fees, not to exceed the maximum in-state tuition & fees at a public Institution of Higher Learning.  The Yellow Ribbon Program will match tuition and fees in excess of the portion funded by the GI Bill, which are waived by Polytechnic Institute of NYU. This program is available for men and women applying to graduate studies. 

    Am I Eligible?

    You may be eligible if you:

    • Served an aggregate period of active duty after September 10, 2001, of at least 36 months;
    • Were honorably discharged from active duty for a service connected disability and you served 30 continuous days after September 10, 2001; 
    • Are a dependent, eligible for Transfer of Entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill based on your service under the eligibility criteria listed above. 

    There is no minimum number of credit hours required for participation and awards will continue in the subsequent years in which you maintain satisfactory progress, conduct, and attendance.

    How Does the Yellow Ribbon Program Benefit Me?

    For a full-time graduate student (9 credit hours), the combined support from the GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program for the 2009 – 2010 academic year is estimated as follows:

    The Yellow Ribbon Program will cover your tuition and mandatory fees. This does not include your room and board or books and supplies, which are provided for separately under the Post-9/11 GI Bill. These benefits will replace merit scholarships awarded at the time of acceptance.
