Dear Fellow Veteran:
As a veteran, I know how important education is in changing your life and achieving your goals - and also how important financial assistance is. The new "GI Bill" has remarkably strong benefits that could do for you even more than the GI Bill did for me in my youth.
The Navy paid for my education at Ohio State University as a Naval ROTC midshipman. Then, after serving five years as a naval officer, including two tours in the Vietnam War, the GI Bill paid my way - with additional support from my working wife - to Yale Law School. As they say, the rest is history.
I am hoping you will continue in this tradition and obtain one of the most exciting and productive educations offered to veterans by enrolling as a student at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
At the Polytechnic Institute (NYU-Poly), we can help you further your educational goals and ease your transition into the classroom. We have a long-standing tradition of educating young people to be inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs who have gone on to become leading engineers, scientists, and business leaders here in America and around the world. We are proud of our legacy of educating enlisted and military officers over the past 155 years and we continue in this tradition today.
This commitment to veterans means we are a proud member of the Yellow Ribbon GI Enhancement Program that enables veterans to study at NYU-Poly while receiving exceptional financial benefits. Indeed, when your GI Bill benefits are combined with Yellow Ribbon benefits, and with support from NYU-Poly, you are able to attend NYU-Poly with 100% of your tuition and fees covered.
Our education and research in applied science and technology is accessible as an undergraduate or graduate student and we offer classes on-campus and online via NYU-EPoly's web-based programs. Our learning options give you flexibility as a NYU-Poly student that matches what you have come to expect in your personal life.
When I was in graduate school, all around me were students who had spent the past years hitting the books while I was hitting the decks. The transition from military to student life is something we take seriously, so we have created a NYU-Poly Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) as a resource for all veterans attending or considering NYU-Poly. In addition to offering information and guidance with the application, enrollment, and financial packaging processes, this office provides academic advising, personal and professional development guidance, and many other services you may want during your transition from military to student-life.
As one veteran to another veteran, I invite you to take a look through our website to learn more about NYU-Poly. In addition, feel free to contact us for an in-person tour or a one-on-one conversation with us at any time. I look forward to welcoming you to NYU-Poly.
